Description

Tamarindus indica is a nitrogen-fixing tree. Grows more slowly than other shade trees, but is highly drought resistant. Fruits within three years. All tamarinds sold at Beersheba are the sweet variety, not sour. Seed pods are excellent eaten out of hand.
